Year 2 had a wonderful time on our school trip. We visited Liverpool, went on a ferry across the River Mersey and took part in a workshop in the Museum of Liverpool where we learned all about Liverpool's famous landmarks. We had a fantastic day! Take a look at our pictures and keep your eyes peeled for writing examples of our recount of the trip and poems we created based on the poem 'The Sound Collector' by Roger McGough.
Our first topic of the year is based on the story 'Meerkat Mail' by Emily Gravett. We received a very special parcel from Miss Harris's Meerkat friend Sunny. It came all the way from the Kalahari Desert in Botswana! Inside the parcel was an information book all about Meerkats, some lovely postcards from Sunny and the cutest pictures of Sunny and his family. We had lots of fun researching the sound Meerkats make, what they eat (yummy scorpions!) and finding out why they stand on their hind legs.
Miss Harris Meets the Meerkats
Miss Harris visited Croxteth Hall and Country Park Farm this weekend and had the chance to take part in the Meerkat experience. Miss Harris had a wonderful time feeding the Meerkats and letting them sit on her knee!
