Parent governor role

We are looking to attract 2 new parent governors to Holy Spirit. We know you are very interested in your child's education. Enthusiasm, a desire to work with school, though be prepared to challenge improvement and a willingness to work as a member of a team are key skills. 

 

The governors main task is to ensure that children receive a high quality education. The governors work as a team with the headteacher for this aim. Roles include agreeing the aims and policies of the school, agreeing the budget, appointing staff and monitoring the school's improvement on its journey to good and beyond. Governors are the link between the school and community and parents provide an important role in keeping the school aware of the views of parents. Parents would receive suitable training and have the opportunity to link with governors in  associated schools to share practice.

If you would like to be put yourself forward, please complete the nomination form and eligibility declaration form which is on the website. The forms can also be collected from the office. The closing date for applications is 2 weeks from today, Monday 12th October. Should there be more applications than the 2 vacancies, we would then proceed to a ballot, in accordance with Sefton guidelines.
