Subsidised Breakfast Club and 8.45 am Early Start at Holy Spirit:
We do our very best to help our families at Holy Spirit within a difficult national financial landscape.
One of our main equality principles is to fight deprivation and to ensure that no child goes hungry. By offering, a heavily subsidised breakfast club, at just £1.00 per day for over an hour's care, families can save money which can then be used at home to support the children. Having this facility makes it much easier for parents to work and therefore support their families.
By offering this facility, children can get into school early and be ready and organised for the day ahead.
We also open the school classes from 8.45. This allows the children a calm start to the day and they also enjoy the benefit of a 15 minute basic skills slot before the main phonics and spelling sessions start at 9 am.
Children with some attendance and punctuality difficulties are signposted to using the breakfast club and also the early basic skills lots- this really helps them get into school where they can learn and make progress.
